A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was reading Dreams from My Father because someone had to.

Well at the moment I'm halfway through...can't stomach more than a few chapters at a time, plus whilst I'm reading other things...but I found this good video on Taylor Marsh's blogs that compares and contrasts the stuff in his book with some of the crap Obama's said this season.

I did note that the person neglected to include the passage where Obama's mother told him about the letter that Grandpa Hussein sent to her parents that said that he did not want Anne Dunham's "white woman" blood to taint the Obama bloodline/hated the pairing so much that he threatened to get Obama Sr.'s student visa revoked (pp. 125, 126). That's too bad, because it's a good one.

Enjoy, but skip if you don't want to hear his voice on the night of celebrating her win, LOL.

...
  • Good luck, I've picked up his book before and tried to read it... I just don't think I could. I can't even read the emails that his campaign sends out anymore- they are all too arrogant.
  • I actually find very little offensive in that video. I have some issues with the myopic views of Rev. Wright (although few issues with Black Nationalism in general)- I think that he totally fails to understand that being a white woman in this country is not the same as being a white man, that while Black people have been hit hard by the AIDS epidemic, it would behoove him to remember that so have the Queer community, and that while it's a good thing to remember the horrors of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, he needs to bow to Asian experience of those horrors (as they are the community that claims ownership over that particular tragedy).

It did make me a little sick to know that Obama wrote intelligently of the possibility of race-baiting in politics being used to hide a multitude of sins years or decades in advance of this run since it suggests a highly premeditated campaign of race-baiting to me. But mostly all of the White folks this and White folks that stuff doesn't bug me. In context it not only makes sense, but is more than reasonable.
  • Oh, but I DID hate Michelle Obama saying that she thinks Black America will "wake up". What a condescending load of SHIT.
  • I have thought about reading his books a few times..and everytime I even get near them in the store I have to turn away ..the man makes me so mad I don't even want to pick them up. I definitely couldn't buy one. If I ever did I'd have to pay for it with 50 Hillary badges all over me so everyone would know which "tank" I'm in. Haha.

Well done for reading it though!
  • I think Hillary Clinton would have faired much better this season if her supporters were actually pro-Hillary and not just anti-Obama.

    • Clinton won by 2 percent in Indiana.

Except, in Indiana, more than 1 in 8 Clinton voters said they would vote for John McCain even if Clinton won the nomination compared to fewer than 1 in 22 Obama voters who said they would vote for McCain if Obama won the nomination.

And even in North Carolina, almost 1 in 6 of Clinton’s North Carolina supporters were pro-McCain voters. Meanwhile, just 1 in 31 Obama supporters were pro-McCain voters.

Rush Limbaugh's Operation Chaos proves that Hillary didn't really win in Indiana.

At this point she is only weakening Obama further, setting Democrats up for a loss in November.
